They play 90's music!!! Love that. I dined in and got a spicy chicken sandwich (which was actually a buffalo chicken sando, which would have been epic with a side of blue cheese or ranch dressing instead of the side of mayo.) I really want to come back and try the impossible burger. Love the no-frills atmosphere, and the service is good (and prompt).

This is was one solid burger place! The burger patty itself was a smash-burger style with crisp on one side and soft on underside with excellent flavor. The bun was just right and didn't overshadow the great taste of the burger. I got the Single State no cheese and my husband got the Double State with no cheese and loved it, he's quite the critic. Tomato, lettuce, onion and pickle were just right and fresh on both. The fries were killer good! Im honestly not a big fry person but they looked good so I snagged a couple or a few more of my husbands. There is like a bbq like dry rub on them and perfect texture and crisp. Would totally come back when in the area.

Ordered take out here, our first time trying it. I've always been curious about the place, having driven passed it on Wornall so many times. We are glad we got it! We each ordered a double, with fries and also shared a bowl of the state chili. Let's start at the chili--very meaty, flavorful, with melted cheese and onions on top. I prefer diced onions, not shredded but it was still tasty. We will have to get it again. The burgers were very nicely seasoned and the produce was so fresh and held up to our wait time (we brought it home but couldn't dig in right away). The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. The woman at the counter greeted me the second I came in. Though I put in an order online, I could tell our food was prepared fresh and they waited til we arrived to fill our order with fresh fries. The restaurant is very clean and open. We will be back!

Searched for an good place to take the kiddos, and came across Burger State. I scoped out their website and food looked awesome, so we have it a try. We tried their KC Dog and a burger! The KC Dog was sooooo good! I would go back just for that! Plus, the burgers were great too! Fries were good. Staff was very nice and helpful in deciding what to order. The dining room was spacious and clean. Definitely will go back if we are in the area. Definitely a 4.5/5!

Been wanting to try a burger at Burger State and finally stopped by the place on 89th & Wornal. It's clean with plenty of seating. You order at the counter and they all your name when ready. Picked the lunch special Double combo with fries and a drink for $13.95. It was 2:30pm, no crowd and got my food in under 7 minutes. All was freshly cooked and steaming hot. Burger was very good. Had opted for rings for $. 50 more, were thick with an egg batter and were also very good. I now see why Burger State has many high ratings.

This is a darn solid burger! I was very pleased with the smell when I walked in the door because I knew I was in for a treat. The burgers did not disappoint! They were very tasty and satisfying. The fellow taking orders and working the front, who I believe was the owner, was very kind and helpful and guided me around the menu. This is the kind of burger joint I have been looking for and I will be back here in the future for sure. If you want a great burger grill on a well seasoned flat top, you should check this place out.

A really nice menu. They have salads, all types of burgers, and even an option to apparently get a fried burger. We weren't brave enough to try it this time, but maybe next! We got a grilled chicken salad, fries, tots and a double. The burger has such a nice, soft bun. The meats are juicy, and the fries and tots are nice and crispy. For the Friday night after thanksgiving, it was pretty empty.
